Oxygen is used as an assist gas for the laser cutting process. The high pulse energy of the laser will penetrate the substrate material. Once penetration occurs, the high pressure oxygen will interact with the molten material increasing the heat levels further and aiding the evacuation process.
Fusion cutting uses nitrogen and argon to create high-quality engravings. This process allows you to cut metal, as well as other materials, with pressures up to 20 bar. This combination of gasses and cutting joints prevents any oxidation at the cutting edge.
